Kid Friendly Pumpkin Decorating

Painting pumpkins

Grandma grew mini pumpkins so we got bunch here is the kind we used these would be fun projects to do on any kind though

This is the paint I used I would recommend something more waterproof if going to keep pumpkin outside this however is easy to clean up!

Having fun painting

Finished pumpkins

*A tooth pick worked best for stacking the pumpkins together

Melting crayons to decorate

Both of my kids loved this project

As the crayons melt add more colors. We used an embossing heat tool to melt them. Maybe a hair dryer would work also? If you try it let me know!

Kids Halloween Craft

My little one and I had fun with this Halloween spider and ghost craft yesterday.

You will need:
Popsicle sticks
googly eyes
black/white paint
black pipe cleaners
Elmer's glue
Maybe some tape
card stock or fridge magnet

I cut my card stock to the width I wanted the spider/ghost to be.* We then glued the Popsicle sticks on to the card stock and let the paint dry. Once paint was dry we glued on the googly eyes, then glued on the legs we used 2 to pipe cleaner each cut into froths. Glue on the legs.( I ended up taping them because my little crafter got too much glue and it never dried so I wiped off and taped them on. with clear packing tape. I then cut another piece of the black pipe cleaner about the same size of the legs. and made a loop on the back so that the spider could be hung up.

*For the ghost I used an magnet and glued it on that instead of the card stock. It was one of those advertisement ones that comes on the phone book.

And an Elmo one because my little Elmo fan wanted to make Elmo. Elmo's nose is a Gatorade bottle cap.

How to make a throw pillow

Step 1: Lay out fabric place pillow on fabric and cut around the pillow. This will be the front piece o the pillow. I cut close around the pillow not leaving a seam allowance I want the pillow to fit in tight.

Step 2: Cut the back piece lay your front one on fabric and cut a piece that is close to 2 of the front side. Cut that piece in half

Step 3: Lay the front piece right side up on ironing surface and the two back pieces on top of it with right sides touching

Step 4: fold back the overlapping parts of fabric they stil should over lap but you now be able to see some of the front side. Iron it down good especial the edges.

Step 5: Pin in place

Step 6: sew all around the pillow

Step 7: Remove pins

Step 8: Turn right side out

Step 9: stuf pillow in

and now you are done you have a thow pillow with a removable cover for easy washing!

The new blog is going to have tips as well. As a stay at home mom I am constantly bending over to pick things up. I like to try to get a work out in but this is a good way to get a little extra in without really doing anything.

Today’s tip: Instead of bending over to pick something up do a squat

New Blog

I am going to start blogging again with a new blog approach. While some people like to read a long thing about the history or whatever while searching for a recipe or tutorial I would rather just read the recipe or the how to. So my new blog will be recipes and tutorials that are to the point. My Comfort pads will also be for sale under the shop tab.
