I painted my black first. My black was just a cheap generic brand spray paint that is less than $2! turn the box upside down and put the bolts into it so you can paint them as well. spray your first coat of paint on the back of the screws and the bolts. Set up the chair seat on something ( I used flower pot) and turn the box over you should now see the the top of the screws. Spray paint the screws and as much of the chair as you can For the seat I used Krylon Satin Sea Glass (see photo below). The vintage stool was in rough shape and the plant that was sitting on it dead. first I threw away the dead plant then got to work on the stool. <div><br /></div><div>A finished look at the stool before I go into the process of refinishing it. No it isn't on the front porch anymore. I didn't want it sitting out in weather getting rusty again and it was a perfect addition to the coffee bar corner. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_jQFunPxHotUyAVrlTLdjmH2vkwGMTN2Dovpq4kPs2FfGXfTpNCMkGoknLp5TiMh8KrLxICizU8zOcszEEXUY8REj8PW_uIzYsEoDpw8QGdmTG8lBcPinIQ_eVdn6XVCYK0NQAEUQ/s2048/IMG-3589.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_jQFunPxHotUyAVrlTLdjmH2vkwGMTN2Dovpq4kPs2FfGXfTpNCMkGoknLp5TiMh8KrLxICizU8zOcszEEXUY8REj8PW_uIzYsEoDpw8QGdmTG8lBcPinIQ_eVdn6XVCYK0NQAEUQ/s320/IMG-3589.JPG" /></a></div><div><br /></div><br /><div>The vinyl on the seat of the stool had a large rip on it. This ended up being quite a process. I took the screw into the local hardware store and told the young gentleman working there that I needed a screw that was same size around slightly longer and had a nut. He picked out some screws and nuts and put them in the bag. I got them home and only one of them worked and that was the only one that the nuts fit on. So I finally made it back to the store and I picked out the screws myself. So I painted the screws and bolts and was finally able to attach the backrest.</div><div><br /></div><div>I poked the screws into a cardboard box and set the nuts on it and spray painted them</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7_t3fMTaXdWKwsPB2zoUk2CbrDAltqYgc3WlLiGPjis3MJlBnCdHco76izqI3P6qyJpfauI_lUMFZCsF5XkuQDL1-FQH3OZuD6Ovxc5XbELHvyCMx8M09_j1LHgxknWRb0IlvrvLa/s2048/IMG-3738.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7_t3fMTaXdWKwsPB2zoUk2CbrDAltqYgc3WlLiGPjis3MJlBnCdHco76izqI3P6qyJpfauI_lUMFZCsF5XkuQDL1-FQH3OZuD6Ovxc5XbELHvyCMx8M09_j1LHgxknWRb0IlvrvLa/s320/IMG-3738.JPG" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQHDCS3UHw9Slii-1gKES-CRDcapXAcESacoGYmeztRC3yaW5aNhTtGRxHi3xtrTyC7VwhyphenhyphenpiPNUrtZe-agkX8baqn3N0HDHvVprK59pISxF4zkXwNjA2yHXiDqYB_-keT-_qCTj_5/s2048/IMG-3741.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQHDCS3UHw9Slii-1gKES-CRDcapXAcESacoGYmeztRC3yaW5aNhTtGRxHi3xtrTyC7VwhyphenhyphenpiPNUrtZe-agkX8baqn3N0HDHvVprK59pISxF4zkXwNjA2yHXiDqYB_-keT-_qCTj_5/s320/IMG-3741.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>As I mentioned before, I didn't want the stool back on the porch to get wet and rust again so it found a new home. over this old desk I had. I bought this little desk when I was sixteen with
money from my fist job. The store I worked in got this little desk in stock and
I knew it would fit perfectly in my litte doormer window nook. The desk has been
up in that doormer since until now my parents broght it here for my son to use
for his school desk. We found a chair For $5 at Youth Ranch and bought some
paint to make both match our colorful decor. I used Rust-Oleum Spray paint to
paint both the desk and the chair.<div>

</div><br />
We have been working on many house projects here lately. All of which I am excited to share with you. The first and most fun one that I would like to share is my son's room. I wanted something fun and colorful but I don't do fancy and complicated designs when painting so this was an easy way to add some color with a design simple enough for me to do!<br />
<br />
For this project you will need:<br />
pencil <br />
ruler<br />
paint<br />
fine tip artist paint brush<br />
foam or regular paint brush<br />
<br />
The walls were just white in the room so first step was to paint the walls a different solid color the other bedrooms are a light gray so this is what color I had for this room too! It needed a fun splash of color though so next using some other paint colors I had made the design<br />
<br />
I used a 16"x 20" canvas to mark my circle so using the long side (your ruler would work too :) ) I made a mark at 20" going down the wall in the corner and along the top next to ceiling.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0tNlY8dYTqUcReGQKaKH0m9BdzFOKkz2N4UzE8ZdwP4IN2RSrS-S44YUEN_Vd782tetbLMnefxB_tgSOXuDuXcjvoL0jWOyI-8GDkdnkblgSEL8PuhdTyVcX_5IWWoHmgojg63Ybf/s1600/IMG-2758.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0tNlY8dYTqUcReGQKaKH0m9BdzFOKkz2N4UzE8ZdwP4IN2RSrS-S44YUEN_Vd782tetbLMnefxB_tgSOXuDuXcjvoL0jWOyI-8GDkdnkblgSEL8PuhdTyVcX_5IWWoHmgojg63Ybf/s320/IMG-2758.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWqbycOpqvKK7uNYHwvh5TzTXjm-ztDdZaFtn9aaQLDXS33rjK6i5rmQUyhMaU0Yd1qmg_XPJL1Tp1_DC6cZb-JdJjSIb9rKtwjxO94KrOuJ-D4Ni7Vvc6qhQNIU9SJU0BT_Invn-9/s1600/IMG-2760.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWqbycOpqvKK7uNYHwvh5TzTXjm-ztDdZaFtn9aaQLDXS33rjK6i5rmQUyhMaU0Yd1qmg_XPJL1Tp1_DC6cZb-JdJjSIb9rKtwjxO94KrOuJ-D4Ni7Vvc6qhQNIU9SJU0BT_Invn-9/s320/IMG-2760.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
After I marked the corners at the 20" down the side in corner and 20" from corner on top I made a curved line connecting the marks.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWrnCeDlTX5A0LRh6_TG1b8yWCHTtqLW-HLPe8JaV0VqirCpMPmLx7SQTT3c79XQ3ffHx0B0buJjvY0IsHjQ5coo8jgJ6DIUbQk2QSYtjDk5nRKdEOW38Sl6r90DMoIGuT2FAFgfGN/s1600/IMG-2761.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWrnCeDlTX5A0LRh6_TG1b8yWCHTtqLW-HLPe8JaV0VqirCpMPmLx7SQTT3c79XQ3ffHx0B0buJjvY0IsHjQ5coo8jgJ6DIUbQk2QSYtjDk5nRKdEOW38Sl6r90DMoIGuT2FAFgfGN/s320/IMG-2761.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
starting in the corner and working the ruler along the line I made marks with the pencil 4" from the curved line. <br />

I then had little marks on the wall that I connected with a curved line. from that line I made the next the line 6" away making that part that gets painted slightly larger than the gap in between. the next line is 4" away again and the next one 6" again <br />

<br />
The pencil marks are hard to see in the photos but the design is now drawn on and I am ready to paint first I used the fine tip brush to paint the first curved line then filled it in between the line and corners.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcpKnTqUY_mKoKl2LcKF-bAh8p3hlxHZ8zAM40sSVPBBNGQtOp5uEW2fVxq_hb5xQPMttMkKeMxTmsVqFKRrblIByYq0lNhwW_TNcLZRne1w-8TFHt__62HLsZQ9_oVjVo3FKj3h2_/s1600/IMG-2771.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcpKnTqUY_mKoKl2LcKF-bAh8p3hlxHZ8zAM40sSVPBBNGQtOp5uEW2fVxq_hb5xQPMttMkKeMxTmsVqFKRrblIByYq0lNhwW_TNcLZRne1w-8TFHt__62HLsZQ9_oVjVo3FKj3h2_/s320/IMG-2771.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6ZAMOilUjHi3qd03DirqgzZslsVJ9R4n4SpZF_EhvlvNghbPRAUiIwM5xy8ax-kYl5isEVEZ-h0CbHg-UoB-A6Mx5Y3jTVnKi10pAVfl8a265bCgTYQDMurQoK5EOOBELM6mljM7E/s1600/IMG-2780.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6ZAMOilUjHi3qd03DirqgzZslsVJ9R4n4SpZF_EhvlvNghbPRAUiIwM5xy8ax-kYl5isEVEZ-h0CbHg-UoB-A6Mx5Y3jTVnKi10pAVfl8a265bCgTYQDMurQoK5EOOBELM6mljM7E/s320/IMG-2780.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
Once the first half circle was filled in I traced the next two lines with the next color and painted between those two lines.<br />

<br />
Traced the next two lines with the third color and fill in between I let it dry then did a quick second coat. I love how this turned out and it was pretty simple to do If I can do this you can too! <br />

</div><br />
Since we have been doing been school at home my son has needed a desk for awhile he had just the crates put together without the bottom side being taken off!<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaSFXvocb80a3CveDVrntBie9i6SXzd9-9-fuU4Q7JBYFsPeT9ttb0p6G6zFa7HHa75YLe-22nKUODPDyl7oY3MBVNrQi0DfIuPLsuo3QLuQmwq7SuJNNhycm8fu_VTvktU3fGYIa2/s1600/8E9C9509-28C1-4487-B411-C7AB0223B61E.jpeg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaSFXvocb80a3CveDVrntBie9i6SXzd9-9-fuU4Q7JBYFsPeT9ttb0p6G6zFa7HHa75YLe-22nKUODPDyl7oY3MBVNrQi0DfIuPLsuo3QLuQmwq7SuJNNhycm8fu_VTvktU3fGYIa2/s320/8E9C9509-28C1-4487-B411-C7AB0223B61E.jpeg" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnqmjlYtzr5zvS3PyJeNSBzVUTP9-M1ZUH_Dqm2tAgkOPOaaBX-oRFPq7LJDs33RQ3swNWI-Ftg47J_4GgwP_GErZgrbV2xI-BTK69hRWXdBejkcqxgkcQagcNUmKvbwZN5o68k1qZ/s1600/ABCF1F15-B158-4C01-9FF3-58EE84EF2423.jpeg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnqmjlYtzr5zvS3PyJeNSBzVUTP9-M1ZUH_Dqm2tAgkOPOaaBX-oRFPq7LJDs33RQ3swNWI-Ftg47J_4GgwP_GErZgrbV2xI-BTK69hRWXdBejkcqxgkcQagcNUmKvbwZN5o68k1qZ/s320/ABCF1F15-B158-4C01-9FF3-58EE84EF2423.jpeg" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
Before it looked like this<br />
<br />
But after cutting off one the sides to make that side shorter and some paint <br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8LX1kISgufMVCMqRMHDyohh5rX3YEKqu7gUJuMdLxzFSKB70EtdW3z0jltcFsiHG4couKSbNxEKQ95mTTqZp_KLkczTE1gAlNx40bU5Yqzc52tBflX7-mVudX2cZseiLh5D41_9ae/s1600/E26137F0-FBD4-4177-9296-77E96CC44759.jpeg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8LX1kISgufMVCMqRMHDyohh5rX3YEKqu7gUJuMdLxzFSKB70EtdW3z0jltcFsiHG4couKSbNxEKQ95mTTqZp_KLkczTE1gAlNx40bU5Yqzc52tBflX7-mVudX2cZseiLh5D41_9ae/s320/E26137F0-FBD4-4177-9296-77E96CC44759.jpeg" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
So to make the desk:<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdpqox7A3MCB9B2NReqIQ8839D0tZpExo2nijgY5ZUOBKeyhldaGbjms1cmbTM9yGLINS3DhBFzjOz8wj30ynbhle6Jq3F3Bvx1zgygG9joLONUj_IFfYhV5i_xcZJXgD4j7ZjZ03L/s1600/746CE75B-21EB-4123-A6E7-AE7C0E002C27.jpeg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdpqox7A3MCB9B2NReqIQ8839D0tZpExo2nijgY5ZUOBKeyhldaGbjms1cmbTM9yGLINS3DhBFzjOz8wj30ynbhle6Jq3F3Bvx1zgygG9joLONUj_IFfYhV5i_xcZJXgD4j7ZjZ03L/s320/746CE75B-21EB-4123-A6E7-AE7C0E002C27.jpeg" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
You will put the crates together and on your inside cut you will cut off the thick triangle shaped pieces on the outside cuts cut the side piece only but leave the triangle piece. Make your cuts, nail or screw the crates together, and sand and paint. I happened to have a top piece that fit but if you don’t you a piece of plywood for the top. Mine hangs off each side a bit so the plywood is 29 7/8” <br />

</div>My husband works from home for two plus years he has been working at desk set up in our bedroom waking up and working in the same room spending most of the day in the same place. He was needing a change of scenery. We did some rearranging to make room for another desk in my craft room. To do this we had to take a dresser that was in there out. It looked a bit odd to have a dresser just hanging out in the living room. I decided then to make it a coffee bar this would free up counter space and I have been forever wanting a coffee bar but had no place for one. While it may be a bit odd to have the coffee bar in the living room I am hoping to someday open it up to the kitchen more and take out the carpet. I hope then it will look more like it belongs.<br />

The dresser had a painted wood surface. I needed it to be a surface that could get wet and could be easily wiped off. I had some shelf contact paper with a marble print and it works perfectly.<br />

It is a little bigger and and more sturdy than the one I am currently using but was in need of a makeover. For the top I sanded off the finish and stained it wit Rust-oleum wood stain in ebony. I then put on a couple of coats of a clear finish using Polycrylic by Minwax I like to use this as a protective coat because it is water based and has low odor. <br />

For the pulls I used black spray paint and for the desk Cowgirl Coral by DIY paint. This paint is a chalk/clay mix it goes on smooth and covers in only 1 or 2 coats and no sanding is required! I bought mine at a local shop that is a distributor for more DIY paints and inspiration visit:<br />

</div><br />
<br />
Sorry for the delay in posts. One of my boys had my phone while he was sitting on the toilet and well you can imagine what happened next. So I did not have a phone for a few days to take pictures. I am excited though to share my latest projects.<br />
<br />
The first project I have been working on started out as a major Pinterest fail but luckily I was able to fix it with an old method I have used before and I love how it turned out. <br />
<br />
So I saw on Pinterest that some people spray painted their counter top it seemed like an easy quick way to update the bathroom vanity so I gave it a try. It turned out to be a mess that didn't cover and just stuck up the whole house even with the bathroom window open and fan going. I do not recommended spray painting indoors! Since spray painting did not work I decided to go back to an old method used before to get a faux granite look. so using white paint, black paint and Minwax Polycrylic I created granite look counter and I also painted the vanity base the same color as my kitchen cabinets (with Behr Classic Silver) the doors and drawers using the custom matched paint by Home Depot that I used to paint my dining room and some other decor items around my house.<br />
<br />
Here is a link from a previous post on how to do the faux granite:<a href="http://shannamade.blogspot.com/2014/03/another-painted-countertop-and-other.html">Another Painted Counter</a> top A few changes though: In the link post 3 colors were used for this counter top though only the white and black were used. Do the white first as a base and layer alternating between the colors. I sprinkled on some glitter between a few of the polycrylic coats doing this between the poly coats instead of paint coats helped it stick better. Also see my post<a href="http://shannamade.blogspot.com/2013/09/kitchen-remodel-in-progress.html"> Kitchen Remodel</a> for more inspiration and directions for this project.<br />

</div>This weekend was for sure not without the struggles we face every weekend where the days seem long and we are tying to figure out what to do and get the kids to go outside and all they want to do is TV or X-box and we all get snappy and grumpy at each other. We did though end up having a pretty good weekend and having a blast! Saturday we spent the morning helping our town with a City Clean up day. We walked along the river and picked up trash. It was a beautiful morning to be outside, but the amount of trash along the river and in it is disheartening and I really wish people would take better care of our earth. When our resources or gone, so are we! The kids did a play X-box some but We managed to get them to go outside and enjoy the sun. Since the sun was shining and so they then think it is just sooo hot and they need a pool, I made a compromise and bought a slip n slide for them to play on instead. <br />

<br />
Sunday was the day things seem to go down hill and everyone was just tired and cranky. It end up being a pretty good day once we got outside and enjoyed nature together. The day started out with the kids waking up early and watching TV all morning, this never seems to be a good idea. So when the neighbor kid came over in the afternoon and wanted to play X-box and we said they needed to play outside. This created a spat between him our oldest son and sent him into a horrible mood. Di spite all the grumbling about it, we loaded up the bikes and drove to a beautiful spot not far from our house where we have never been as a family but where husband bikes. We rode bikes on the dirt roads and through the creek and played and splashed in the creek, which my youngest the little water baby thought was just great! He unfortunately took a little spill on our way back to SUV so this wasn't a good way to end the trip. Thankfully thought the crash was not as bad as it looked and he was able to limp away with only some scrapes and bruises on his knee and hands. This was not a good way to end the adventure but we still had a blast and the mountains/hills and creek where so so beautiful and green this time of year. <br />

and Lots of just enjoying the beauty of nature<br />
<br />
Our Earth such a beautiful place and inside of us it creates beautiful feelings, if you feel down a little fresh air and the beauty of nature can do so much for your soul. Most importantly though if you are feeling down remember there is only one you and that is amazing and that is why you are so loved.<br />

I have been needing/wanting a display manikin for my neck wraps. They are kind of expensive and I didn't really want to spend the money on one. Last night when I should have been sleeping I had this idea to make one. So using some scrap wood and a hanger and a crochet headband I had made but never finished I made one! <br />
<br />
you will need:<br />
<br />
long piece of wood 1.5 inches thick (my long one was about 15 inches long)<br />
short piece of wood 1.5 inches thick (I used one about 7.5 inches in length)<br />
velvet hanger<br />
yarn or fabric <br />
spray paint<br />
a screw long enough to attach the boards <br />
<br />
<br />
You will need to cut your wood pieces to size, mine already happened to be this size so it was what I used.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP84l5kek_dQyw95CO8R8zj0uwrmIt0xos-kaSK08e2FfxdcHXQQZblK3KKN6E5uP-29m0JwcIEipDnA6lh0nZu5XIURE4zSpTRCZ2hqAJ4IwcuDmaoFHSsqsgz_sJd9cN7NlhN0Ds/s1600/IMG-1516.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP84l5kek_dQyw95CO8R8zj0uwrmIt0xos-kaSK08e2FfxdcHXQQZblK3KKN6E5uP-29m0JwcIEipDnA6lh0nZu5XIURE4zSpTRCZ2hqAJ4IwcuDmaoFHSsqsgz_sJd9cN7NlhN0Ds/s320/IMG-1516.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_Eq4WalwjueDk9KeXql4szo5LHlv2o3j_i2LS8Kn0QtRTe_vc4Spzt-SOlFovfgtQqtJBjA6TgMgmWZiqN00NALBqpbXOK4BMD8sH-rPziTfKUt16OmTjKZScc5iszZSVUxd7Ju98/s1600/IMG-1515.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_Eq4WalwjueDk9KeXql4szo5LHlv2o3j_i2LS8Kn0QtRTe_vc4Spzt-SOlFovfgtQqtJBjA6TgMgmWZiqN00NALBqpbXOK4BMD8sH-rPziTfKUt16OmTjKZScc5iszZSVUxd7Ju98/s320/IMG-1515.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9f7MBr4nhHntqBQ3H2Hzzu6yPgLV1RSPS9vlt-gGyvavJopvKzgHKZGCI3FIVF1G8DvlzjogDWYJI5f8-3hA2x6OOr0nw7-JfuZjtf-_AqOp66673Nrpmyv2xhh8s-l4nkb3jmtjm/s1600/IMG-1517.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9f7MBr4nhHntqBQ3H2Hzzu6yPgLV1RSPS9vlt-gGyvavJopvKzgHKZGCI3FIVF1G8DvlzjogDWYJI5f8-3hA2x6OOr0nw7-JfuZjtf-_AqOp66673Nrpmyv2xhh8s-l4nkb3jmtjm/s320/IMG-1517.JPG" width="320" height="240" data-original-width="1600" data-original-height="1200" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
You will then screw them together with the short one on bottom to create a base<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ-pnUK7fZaxB-poRukNjSPpBW17U1HUeXdIKh6CgAYaG-OlONMBX2IqbNYMvkjzNmAcFowySHGbwHMLDC18Knd2L9MnXzTdPbOYCTHtTR2ZFS-wG7HqdsSaGhAt3Krwo5guLHT-EI/s1600/IMG-1519.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ-pnUK7fZaxB-poRukNjSPpBW17U1HUeXdIKh6CgAYaG-OlONMBX2IqbNYMvkjzNmAcFowySHGbwHMLDC18Knd2L9MnXzTdPbOYCTHtTR2ZFS-wG7HqdsSaGhAt3Krwo5guLHT-EI/s320/IMG-1519.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbphSsSIwTsg8ntLjst4pzEz2wN4GwyktcUd1JGQkMqkMdMHcNF9L4KreaDZOPApGR3lHsQao792d-WIeDPrY2IPEryM5IGxU42jjxYlaWw1uz82c5JsY10ZbmwikgIgCC5kz1K9O4/s1600/IMG-1520.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbphSsSIwTsg8ntLjst4pzEz2wN4GwyktcUd1JGQkMqkMdMHcNF9L4KreaDZOPApGR3lHsQao792d-WIeDPrY2IPEryM5IGxU42jjxYlaWw1uz82c5JsY10ZbmwikgIgCC5kz1K9O4/s320/IMG-1520.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
Then Spray Paint I used some black I had in the cupboard and painted on two coats<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhve2ejEBlA8JumhAwd2ocZnatq4BLwLrfCgyMW2mmY2VYp-Qsmeaza0RHRJYkBbsJynAKSlmsqhBTgjleJG10PA_IJDUzM1i-OZjQa6CfvAAoc0kw6L1U3h4-gdDjTwtarHoeVKTtw/s1600/IMG-1521.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhve2ejEBlA8JumhAwd2ocZnatq4BLwLrfCgyMW2mmY2VYp-Qsmeaza0RHRJYkBbsJynAKSlmsqhBTgjleJG10PA_IJDUzM1i-OZjQa6CfvAAoc0kw6L1U3h4-gdDjTwtarHoeVKTtw/s320/IMG-1521.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
While your paint is drying wrap your hanger I used a crochet ear warmer headband thing I had made and never finished similar to this one my aunt made that turned out much better:<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh86iTRc2u7SW5XdAbP5rZp_9S5OxtCXGeRCH2qcBdtbmQkEwtnVqT0u1yGz9O9B6GNQjIBjXc-SEPimjGTaXH77FfvdrR4c35DcXvwaPSvg12TBprQnTsFWH2fOW9WyZgtXQrZwsHe/s1600/IMG-1551.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh86iTRc2u7SW5XdAbP5rZp_9S5OxtCXGeRCH2qcBdtbmQkEwtnVqT0u1yGz9O9B6GNQjIBjXc-SEPimjGTaXH77FfvdrR4c35DcXvwaPSvg12TBprQnTsFWH2fOW9WyZgtXQrZwsHe/s320/IMG-1551.jpg" width="320" height="240" data-original-width="1600" data-original-height="1200" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP2Bt_cOPEHPzFXInDhvYXjWzn_YZ6Rj_2S5A9NTwJl7lXUPUwnmyUu14h546na38S1vZ3LxQhJK3aAPF5mG4hTjQEGecNC_Jzua1QR42hdFWQ_KbgHYilYcgO7_NWOmTUmxCRVbWL/s1600/IMG-1550.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP2Bt_cOPEHPzFXInDhvYXjWzn_YZ6Rj_2S5A9NTwJl7lXUPUwnmyUu14h546na38S1vZ3LxQhJK3aAPF5mG4hTjQEGecNC_Jzua1QR42hdFWQ_KbgHYilYcgO7_NWOmTUmxCRVbWL/s320/IMG-1550.jpg" width="320" height="240" data-original-width="1600" data-original-height="1200" /></a><br />
<br />
So if you happen to have one of these around you don't ware use it. If not you could use some material cut to size and glue on hanger or wrap the hanger with yarn. I wraped the corners of the headband arond the sides and bottom of the hanger and used a safety pin to hold it together and on the hanger.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1rW2kXD_oR8rsO1eYy-ADLjrkNzrli4yASItYMD7XvhSZUkfpzFoPGT-L5RVSWOlbR1Wfh8c299GsyXmOp4F1gaiq5KwU_2kjg_FrOhmq4a2xdLVlMLOXLFA1zJqlW_UGoAAFs74V/s1600/IMG-1522.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1rW2kXD_oR8rsO1eYy-ADLjrkNzrli4yASItYMD7XvhSZUkfpzFoPGT-L5RVSWOlbR1Wfh8c299GsyXmOp4F1gaiq5KwU_2kjg_FrOhmq4a2xdLVlMLOXLFA1zJqlW_UGoAAFs74V/s320/IMG-1522.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqQHGxSnHCWKsFcF8yQYVg9jMN_bN-iQgkjw0Itov4oT3IBSmpLkdpt5kV0bk6NgeuGHP4L-4y8jEdaq4iLwsFl1e5k5NTBqgSIuqxoxvVggABDBDe9HHKbAQLkG78p__TLH0N7-48/s1600/IMG-1523.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqQHGxSnHCWKsFcF8yQYVg9jMN_bN-iQgkjw0Itov4oT3IBSmpLkdpt5kV0bk6NgeuGHP4L-4y8jEdaq4iLwsFl1e5k5NTBqgSIuqxoxvVggABDBDe9HHKbAQLkG78p__TLH0N7-48/s320/IMG-1523.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSrf8CrsDha0TvdoGJPdEVfAQ5Q1gMiq8h9NPqfSbsOqZFc9LiYl8P6_-tkZvWyRhcnHLwmJUhWqtRZ4PxihxJSDnqsYVmpH0Ox8YN213DdoYoAbZE29gKjfhEnfYkk2sSvPjZxizU/s1600/IMG-1524.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSrf8CrsDha0TvdoGJPdEVfAQ5Q1gMiq8h9NPqfSbsOqZFc9LiYl8P6_-tkZvWyRhcnHLwmJUhWqtRZ4PxihxJSDnqsYVmpH0Ox8YN213DdoYoAbZE29gKjfhEnfYkk2sSvPjZxizU/s320/IMG-1524.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
You will then attch the hanger to the base. I tried to nail it on but this happened:<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidZSwYHgrM8WnhxFmUmKDw3hA3SEZnCTAFTmQv7o7-bV_0KQgd1dHl3hG0tJyey3GT4HIp3kl4yB9A3rEK2o17dmFM8yr0HAMpMI9XalTe_2MBw21hJTmOmNgBAwLtvztp9d-ZGnl2/s1600/IMG-1525.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidZSwYHgrM8WnhxFmUmKDw3hA3SEZnCTAFTmQv7o7-bV_0KQgd1dHl3hG0tJyey3GT4HIp3kl4yB9A3rEK2o17dmFM8yr0HAMpMI9XalTe_2MBw21hJTmOmNgBAwLtvztp9d-ZGnl2/s320/IMG-1525.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
So, I got out the hot glue gun to glue the hanger back together and attach the hanger to the base. some better glue other than hot glue may be better but for now that is what I had available<br />
<br />

</div><br />
<br />
Seems Social Media is full of I love the weekend snuggles and time with my little ones it is so precious... Yes time with our little ones is precious and I enjoy spending time with mine, but lets be real here weekends aren't all snuggles and all sweet. Weekends are a struggle for us. when there isn't a plan and when we don't take a little time to spend together outside the tension rises. My kids would be completely content to spend all weekend sitting in front of the tv or a kindle but too much electronic time turns them into little demons! I will admit too it seems to have the same affect on me! Anyone else notice this? The struggle is finding something to do everyone can agree on,something everyone can agree on that is free and not too far of a drive makes that even more of a struggle. Usually what one kiddo wants to do the other doesn't.<br />
<br />
Well this weekend we went to a place we have gone to many times this usually doesn't go over well as I hear "We have seen that it's boring." We went to a nature preserve that has trails to walk on, this time though we took along a little scavenger hunt. That helped to get them to be a bit more agreeable to go. While I wouldn't say it was a complete success and it ended up being a pretty quick little outing. It was cold and windy and the boys forgot their coats. It was enough fresh air to lighten everyone's' mood and get us to interact with each other instead of stare at screens and snap at each other.<br />
<br />
My husband found and printed this nature scavenger hunt from <a href="https://childhood101.com/">chidhood101.com</a><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs2zOg0OO9Pe87vQr8ebWkBy9BplI_by-RZledGAOXhcKyq5HLbIwBxAPpx9T22AxmvNm1NPFjCnKUSfLBUJP2CulfCS6xwtWvfwJ2EyMtn6wFTCX3JlAyKBaXJrMlSYFk27ClL7UO/s1600/IMG-1434.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs2zOg0OO9Pe87vQr8ebWkBy9BplI_by-RZledGAOXhcKyq5HLbIwBxAPpx9T22AxmvNm1NPFjCnKUSfLBUJP2CulfCS6xwtWvfwJ2EyMtn6wFTCX3JlAyKBaXJrMlSYFk27ClL7UO/s320/IMG-1434.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
I couldn't find a clipboard but found this clear cover folder I cut a piece of cardborad the size of the paper and double stick taped onto the paper this helped so we had a somewhat hard writing surface and works well to erase so we can use the scavenger hunt again!<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh70f2z3-cwljkJpUxftYFmRVvpEF21jdEvHgI-4SUbjVLv0SgFh4zWpuRtbb_AyCQSIgsjvRleLyLKqQLaDAzHUhQFOohpNi5hHzAQ3AUEBg6pwOir-DYsiuR5cCf1uIN_vO4pXnN2/s1600/IMG-1420.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh70f2z3-cwljkJpUxftYFmRVvpEF21jdEvHgI-4SUbjVLv0SgFh4zWpuRtbb_AyCQSIgsjvRleLyLKqQLaDAzHUhQFOohpNi5hHzAQ3AUEBg6pwOir-DYsiuR5cCf1uIN_vO4pXnN2/s320/IMG-1420.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
Good thing there was blanket in the car for the kiddo in short sleeves that forgot his coat<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKuxT0itotW2prsglq0Fcg28ivc7U6Wko38rJ8tD-_XQzAjBVWUnx7H7ZJnbMLwnhTzz9P3KHKyg3_fWfwpaeO2uMR_Y2A7KWKR8i35Uz2rVySKtVdaWbKRhnEHi0XOpOZi1VfO5cr/s1600/IMG-1424.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKuxT0itotW2prsglq0Fcg28ivc7U6Wko38rJ8tD-_XQzAjBVWUnx7H7ZJnbMLwnhTzz9P3KHKyg3_fWfwpaeO2uMR_Y2A7KWKR8i35Uz2rVySKtVdaWbKRhnEHi0XOpOZi1VfO5cr/s320/IMG-1424.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
We even managed even to get a cute selfie with everyone looking at the camera.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdJYOOQL1aaC3XZTRBgG_4Y83NK0ooMqPtPqYLpLFWwD5kJznZD46_jRoYqr7PdQR93YWYEykUF9N0BBYAsDJrbOrxZb8CL5cpdv0L83FpWf12dUvkBg_83Zn-xYuoOYF_1wSyBqlL/s1600/IMG-1426.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdJYOOQL1aaC3XZTRBgG_4Y83NK0ooMqPtPqYLpLFWwD5kJznZD46_jRoYqr7PdQR93YWYEykUF9N0BBYAsDJrbOrxZb8CL5cpdv0L83FpWf12dUvkBg_83Zn-xYuoOYF_1wSyBqlL/s320/IMG-1426.JPG" width="320" height="240" data-original-width="1600" data-original-height="1200" /></a><br />
<br />
Oh and since the next day was earth day or rather that everyday is earth day we took along a bag to pick up trash luckily though there wasn't much to pick up!<br />

</div><br />
<br />
Today I am tackling that dreaded laundry pile of clean clothes that never put themselves away. I used to spend what seemed like hours folding and hanging my boys' clothes only a day later to have the dresser look like this:<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSNEFiOOu-Cq_fekeW4W5bu48_7fCxnCq8XocDj-pt8MK5_mKxbPbSd8uVg_L5n4Nwv1Rg2fFa0wFWjSzAsC8GY_jgbMPe9-vSj7OlM5Q8yySD1Cnt3Z9bHHI5X_sxsd3Su4oXZ30U/s1600/IMG-1389.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSNEFiOOu-Cq_fekeW4W5bu48_7fCxnCq8XocDj-pt8MK5_mKxbPbSd8uVg_L5n4Nwv1Rg2fFa0wFWjSzAsC8GY_jgbMPe9-vSj7OlM5Q8yySD1Cnt3Z9bHHI5X_sxsd3Su4oXZ30U/s320/IMG-1389.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I started this system of bins in their closets I don't worry about folding just sorting them into piles and then they get thrown into the correct bin. This system works well because it easy for them to help with the sorting and taking them to their room to put away.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxQn4x9JRfJFLqGvFBPjDIDRPeWU8TSxW3l1LknKiyBhBcmfQv0aO0bLRrNZaHirbGCmVPhE6oKX2eiuxyyGgxtJv0lWf6GssF7asw7f6igXS_JPBRX7ng4MSF-69VSOXhEEiTR6_b/s1600/IMG-1388.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxQn4x9JRfJFLqGvFBPjDIDRPeWU8TSxW3l1LknKiyBhBcmfQv0aO0bLRrNZaHirbGCmVPhE6oKX2eiuxyyGgxtJv0lWf6GssF7asw7f6igXS_JPBRX7ng4MSF-69VSOXhEEiTR6_b/s320/IMG-1388.JPG" width="320" height="240" data-original-width="1600" data-original-height="1200" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeLPe09R5ibRkCQ6o2o_HwCxkToYPwqFPWorbM6YzAOcGHVGgL3wt0cod9J9k4k_Ant5gWPkxJptqvdZaLUY0GVFIMUxwBrQnpPdTzGH3wcc5gcSQ5iX1nR7mRYH2wv4eCJ1lXdlQn/s1600/IMG-1392.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeLPe09R5ibRkCQ6o2o_HwCxkToYPwqFPWorbM6YzAOcGHVGgL3wt0cod9J9k4k_Ant5gWPkxJptqvdZaLUY0GVFIMUxwBrQnpPdTzGH3wcc5gcSQ5iX1nR7mRYH2wv4eCJ1lXdlQn/s320/IMG-1392.JPG" width="320" height="240" data-original-width="1600" data-original-height="1200" /></a><br />
<br />
They have a bin for pants/shorts, one for shirts, one for socks, and one for underwear. They just sort out what is theirs from the pile sorting them into these categories then throw them into the bin in their closet.<br />
<br />
<br />
While I still dread that laundry mountain and there is still some things I fold this does make it a lot easier and more manageable! <br />

</div><br />
<br />
Saturday was the first nice weekend day of spring so we deiced to head into Home Depot to get a few things for the yard and things for projects around the house. Apparently this was everyone's idea of what to do on a sunny spring day, as the place was crowed and trying to keep the kids from bumping into people and displays was a bit stressful so it was a quick trip and I wasn't able to browse and get all the spring flowers I wanted. We of course got home and realized the many things we forgot to get.<br />
<br />
I did get a few flowers for the front porch, the kids picked out the snap dragons and little clay pots they are the perfect addition to the little stool on the front porch along with a cheerful hello.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijFYn4e8kAZmZuy-xZUcwABsEBFq0PVs8WlYVkAy1ufXDoSjoIHfuo__sCShViIDxSARiJMKgb-bMfzgJlm5gaow_D5vj_fa3PJXuaf6xA3DY5j2fXPNP5rX82m0KNSZZeVBF899eB/s1600/porch+flowers.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijFYn4e8kAZmZuy-xZUcwABsEBFq0PVs8WlYVkAy1ufXDoSjoIHfuo__sCShViIDxSARiJMKgb-bMfzgJlm5gaow_D5vj_fa3PJXuaf6xA3DY5j2fXPNP5rX82m0KNSZZeVBF899eB/s320/porch+flowers.jpg" width="320" height="320" data-original-width="960" data-original-height="960" /></a><br />
<br />
I love the cheerful feel this adds to the front porch, Next I need paint the front door. the tough part on this is deciding on a color!<br />

Today since I wasn't able to paint still I made a sign using a board that was already painted. This board just needed sanded and the coffee cup and the bike was done with a paint pen. I was able to use the paint in the house so I could get that part of the painting project done.<br />
<br />
To make this project you will need<br />
*a piece of wood cut to the size you want to make your sign mine is Approximately 22.25” x 11.5”<br />
<br />
*sand paper<br />
<br />
*computer and printer to print your coffee cup and bike on paper<br />
<br />
*carbon paper<br />
<br />
*paint pen in color of choice<br />
<br />
<br />
First thing you will need to is paint your board if it isn't already painted like mine was once that paint is dry sand it a bit to give a distressed look. You will then need to find clip art of coffee cup and bike and print them. <br />
<br />
cut our around the shape and put it on your carbon paper and cut around it as well. I used this smudge resistant carbon paper. <br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_vDbTCSl-VHxRbc-63s0Rh61ZCInDS1QvS1mlYqRcnDSCbsJThJxv06Ny49rzu_wO2Rqdk4Cb8s6IgcWsFx-avWPZih_lCBBWZnkWd0H-k9Mfb9mFnF8c1aVMHbHYDPxOUE2c7EwP/s1600/IMG-0886.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_vDbTCSl-VHxRbc-63s0Rh61ZCInDS1QvS1mlYqRcnDSCbsJThJxv06Ny49rzu_wO2Rqdk4Cb8s6IgcWsFx-avWPZih_lCBBWZnkWd0H-k9Mfb9mFnF8c1aVMHbHYDPxOUE2c7EwP/s320/IMG-0886.JPG" width="320" height="240" data-original-width="1600" data-original-height="1200" /></a><br />
<br />
decide where on your board you want image and trace<br />
<br />

<br />
you will now need your paint pen you will need to pump/press it on a piece of paper to get the paint flowing once your paint is coming out you can paint on your image.<br />

<br />
lightly sand your board again this will help smooth out your paint edges and give the image a distressed look. Last step is to attatch your how you will hang your sign I use these saw tooth hangers and put one on each end of the backside of the board. <br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIgpIHCsgPuxzV7a7f92Cex5U-lLNR-XiGot6XY-27q2dddWwTjanfFjbkMmJoW41ZM-7sm4Y9lFsAC_aONwzxOwy__Vw2TjFZOcNr57j8A_UAvzeePXWT17cTSSnZN_c9lrBFur6R/s1600/IMG-0899.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIgpIHCsgPuxzV7a7f92Cex5U-lLNR-XiGot6XY-27q2dddWwTjanfFjbkMmJoW41ZM-7sm4Y9lFsAC_aONwzxOwy__Vw2TjFZOcNr57j8A_UAvzeePXWT17cTSSnZN_c9lrBFur6R/s320/IMG-0899.jpg" width="320" height="240" data-original-width="1600" data-original-height="1200" /></a><br />

I still don't where I am going to hang this or if I am going to put it in my shop the wall where I would put it where this coffee house sign is the same is painted the same color.<br />

I like sewing a little bit and making neck wraps to help others with their pain but y'all what I really enjoy creating is home decor I like to see what I can come up with on a budget creating out of what I have around the house and paint old things to give them a new look.<br />
<br />
Today I really just want to paint. I have a chair I need to paint I have a bunch of wooden crates just sitting in the garage waiting for something to be done with them. It is just too cold though I tried to to paint an expansion to my desk not too long ago when we had some somewhat warm weather but the paint just didn't stick and dry well so I will probably have to repaint it once it warms up. Oh and some black picture frames that need color! hmm well anyways since I can't paint yet today I will share some pictures of some projects done around my home sort of like a little home tour of my home. I will post links for the projects that I have written a post about.<br />
<br />
Upon Walking into my front door you will find this Ladder Coat Rack:<a href="https://shannamade.blogspot.com/2017/03/ladder-coat-rack.html"> Ladder Coat Rack</a><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIJJ0Iah7wN_gGKwoTu6bVR_W-VYvYnmbqDJnNnVmIH2RlDgEugSmFBNzcXWduJuGttpEHs53-tZroK1LOjHvvc1iKSj6JcDtAMNWdvyuhYln-C5hgUhJV__hBMMURa6hs64zCLwJI/s1600/IMG-0708.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIJJ0Iah7wN_gGKwoTu6bVR_W-VYvYnmbqDJnNnVmIH2RlDgEugSmFBNzcXWduJuGttpEHs53-tZroK1LOjHvvc1iKSj6JcDtAMNWdvyuhYln-C5hgUhJV__hBMMURa6hs64zCLwJI/s320/IMG-0708.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
Go on into the living room you will find what truly is a living space it is a fairly large room and every corner has been used to try to make it cute and functional as well as make up for the lack of space in the rest of the house. <br />
<br />
When we cleaned out our garage this vintage bike found a new home as decor in the living room and the basket serves as a place to store a couple of blankets. <br />

We have a little music fan at our houses so we have the music wall with his instruments. The keyboard was on a stand that came with it the drums just sitting on some crates. With this arrangement though you could see all the wires going everywhere and it is just didn't look great so I came up with this rearranging the creates and putting this board I had across it. The board could be a little longer to but it is what I had to work with for now and it does look better than the unsightly mess it was before. <br />

I had to find a home for this special bench since the front entry is too small it found it's home by in the living by the back door. My dad made this bench for our front porch in the first house we bought and it has moved with us to each house since. The quilt being used as the padding my grandmother made for me when I was a little girl. The bike pillow was a gift from my husband and the other pillow I made the covers for. We will move now into the dining room and kitchen<br />
<br />
I just love my colorful dinning room In here I have the <a href="http://shannamade.blogspot.com/2018/01/bike-wheel-light.html">bike wheel light </a> the colorful table and chairs, and a farmhouse style coffee sign. <br />

The old window meal plan sign. I got this old window from my aunt and with some cleaning up and some spray paint it became the meal plan board:<br />

<br />
The kitchen was a big job to update the old cabinets but with paint and new nobs they look much better<br />

<br />
Remember the ladder from the entryway? Well here is the other half of it being used as a picture frame shelf in the hallwall<br />
<a href="https://shannamade.blogspot.com/2017/02/ladder-shelf.html"><br />
The ladder shelf<br />
</a><br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6YgHbkhEyXpcbVVTdxChSRXl4fiGqwNSDpsh7Q-nvOMavQl870BwpSIPLOG9J544syYM_jqhLO-RQxGH9zFiykbA-5_t2Xc54N6BzeWEs8yGYppeq9UVbVrpW9cFUFutps-laQhKK/s1600/IMG-0856.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6YgHbkhEyXpcbVVTdxChSRXl4fiGqwNSDpsh7Q-nvOMavQl870BwpSIPLOG9J544syYM_jqhLO-RQxGH9zFiykbA-5_t2Xc54N6BzeWEs8yGYppeq9UVbVrpW9cFUFutps-laQhKK/s320/IMG-0856.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
I plan on painting the black frames bright colors. Should I paint the ladder too or leave it natural?<br />
<br />
Then we have the kid's art boards they need to be cleaned off it is hard to get rid of all the cute stuff they have made but here is where I display some of it.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_hfLnzH6AVGU3xgn3HAx9Fb9lOXS8_LB1e9owDbCgsxd5WRwkFlwov6Ma-jy-QtY4vWMd3jh4KqPn1kYgOyZqrI_HgwZ8g3Gy_dvc2BFKnffMSAgCT57m5Nuq9v6PUQsJb2ObHsTD/s1600/IMG-0861.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_hfLnzH6AVGU3xgn3HAx9Fb9lOXS8_LB1e9owDbCgsxd5WRwkFlwov6Ma-jy-QtY4vWMd3jh4KqPn1kYgOyZqrI_HgwZ8g3Gy_dvc2BFKnffMSAgCT57m5Nuq9v6PUQsJb2ObHsTD/s320/IMG-0861.JPG" width="320" height="240" data-original-width="1600" data-original-height="1200" /></a><br />
<br />
And in the master bedroom is the bedside shelves<br />
<br />
I did not have a table to put here so using some wood that was from some old shelves left at the house I made these bedside table/shelves. I painted them using the same technique as the<a href="https://shannamade.blogspot.com/2017/07/desk-makeover.html"> desk makeover</a> but I painted the blue base color before applying the vasoline <br />

<br />
That is all the projects completed for now other than simply painting some of the walls that were once just white. Hope you enjoyed the little home tour watch for more projects when it is warm enough to paint again.<br />
<br />
*** Update 4/23/2019 I found some wood someone was giving away and one was long enough for my piano stand so I have updated it so it has a top that is long enough! The board was just a little too long so I had to have the hubby cut it to the size and I painted it and now am excited to have a top that is actually the right size. </div><br />
<br />
I wasn't even sure I was going to go ahead and write this post. Last week I was feeling down and just in a really depressed kinda of mood for no apparent reason. I spent a lot of time on Pinterst just browsing what came up in my page. Some of what came up was somewhat of an encouragement because in reading some of the posts I learned a lot about myself. I said I wasn't sure I was going to write this because now that I am feeling better what I learned just seems more like an excuse. It isn't an excuse though it is who I am and still in a learning process of how to deal with my emotions and learning who I am.<br />
<br />
so what came on Pinterest? Well last year my son had a teacher that realized just how smart he was but because of a lack of fine motor development he couldn't always express that and it was frustrating for him and teachers trying to read his work. She made sure he got the help he needs and he is now working with an amazing team of occupational therapists and physical therapists at his school. After observing my son these therapist said he has Sensory Processing Disorder. Some things they said about this made sense to describe many of of our son's behaviors. So I begin researching Sensory Processing Disorder and pinning activities to do with kids to help. In reading some of those posts so many of my own struggles both as a kid and now as an adult began to make since it made me so grateful that my son has the opportunity to work with specialist that can help him. When researching Sensory Processing Disorder a lot autism as well Asperger's information comes up as well and you find just how in depth and different levels of severity these can take on. One thing though is for sure if you have any of these three things you feel and sense everything with such deep feeling that is hard to express it and seems as though it so often comes out just as a scream or tendency withdrawal for lack of words on how to express what is so deeply felt. After researching these I am starting to understand more about my son and myself. I am so grateful for the therapists helping my son but he needs my help too and this has been a struggle as I feel I don't know how to deal with my own emotions how can I teach a seven year old how to deal with his?<br />
<br />
I don't know which of these I have but I am certain I have some for form of a Sensory Disorder. Many of my struggles as a kid have become so real again after reading about these Disorders (don't really like to call them that). Autism, Asperger's, and sensory processing disorder were not things we ever heard of as kids. That doesn't mean they weren't around we are more aware of these things now and are able to help kids that have one or all of them. For that I am so grateful so while It is a struggle everyday to sort through my own strong feelings let alone help kids sort out theirs. Together my son that has been diagnosed as well as my other son and I learning how to deal with emotions. Sometimes I fail and they are reminding me that was not appropriate behavior or not nice. Everyday can be struggle when you feel, see, hear, and smell with such severity that it becomes overwhelming but I am glad to have such amazing kids and partner to help with this and learn with me. <br />
<br />
Here is a a couple of Pinterest pins that spoke to me:<br />

The Other day on my run this rock caught my eye <br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_3LO3ss3s-YoEF2IncIzhM5ARhBTOAQdUgiFYm6VOYWUHOwkx9b9VCK0fFAbxpbZ7x4LHVEMjOmUqo7h73jDnTYCrR_9XEiPm6hpSsU8hTtdaSfrjBHzQeEnPr9sYC7QlcZxkKCWm/s1600/IMG-0552.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_3LO3ss3s-YoEF2IncIzhM5ARhBTOAQdUgiFYm6VOYWUHOwkx9b9VCK0fFAbxpbZ7x4LHVEMjOmUqo7h73jDnTYCrR_9XEiPm6hpSsU8hTtdaSfrjBHzQeEnPr9sYC7QlcZxkKCWm/s320/IMG-0552.JPG" width="240" height="320" data-original-width="1200" data-original-height="1600" /></a><br />
<br />
I thought "that rock looks like a heart" and kept going something though made me turn around and pick it up. I looked closer and realized it didn't look as much like a heart as I thought it did at a first glance. Still in that rock I could see the shape of heart and was intrigued so I run with it the rest of the home with my thoughts going to why this rock was intriguing to me. It is not a perfect heart but perfectly imperfect like us. It has some broken pieces that cannot be replaced but now is a part of what it has become and shaped it. It has things added on that look as though they were not there to begin with, maybe a blessing that made it grow or maybe a burden that it carries with it. This beautiful rock was a picture in my mind what the heart of our soul might look like. It would not look like the perfectly formed hearts we try to draw on paper or the perfectly shaped boxes filled with goodies that we can buy this time year but it still would look like a heart it still represents love because love is what our soul is it is what it needs most and what it responds to best if that is what it knows and is fed. So my desire is to just show more kindness and love to all I meet because while I can't always see at first glance what pieces of heart may be broken off or what burdens it might bear but I can see a heart that loves and needs kindness and love and to me that looks perfect. My blog posts will not have necessarily have a specific theme it will be just what I have been inspired to write about. Weather it be how I feel, a project, or something that has happened to provoke such feelings that I feel inspired to share. I am feeling today an inspiration to blog again in hopes to reach out and do what the ShannaMade mission says to inspire love, healthy living, creativity, and joy. <br />
<br />
About ShannaMade<br />
<br />
It started out as just my brand for my neck wraps but I now mainly post inspiration thoughts and share things that bring me joy. My neck wraps are still available for purchase but my focus is just to let people know that they are loved and inspire them to be themselves and share with others the things that bring them joy as a way to spread more love in this World. <br />
<br />
A bit about me<br />
<br />
I would have to admit I have always been hesitant to share to much about myself especially on blog where anyone can see it. While at ShannaMade I make neck wraps, and a few other things I sell this isn't my main mission (see above) I am beginning to realize that to truly inspire others I need to be willing to be vulnerable to open up. Talking and being around people isn't where I feel at all comfortable. Expression and putting thoughts into words is a struggle for me. Because of this everything seems to get bottled up inside and explode under pressure. I hope to try and keep it real here by letting out some of those feelings in writing giving me a chance to sort through those feelings and emotions in a discovery of who I am. My life has been lived as Chameleon wondering who I am. It is hard to write about me when I am still in a process of discovery. I have always loved to create and want to share that passion to inspire other artists and spread more love and joy in a world where these things seem to be lost.<br />
<br />
While I love to create and that is a big part of who I am these people(pictured below) are my main source of love and joy. I need to slow down live more in the moment and truly enjoy them more and make sure they know just how much I love them.<br />
